S3 Intelligent Tiering and Lifecycle Pack

A CloudFormation template that sets up an S3 bucket with every cost-saving feature enabled: Intelligent Tiering to automatically move objects between access tiers, lifecycle rules to archive cold data to Glacier, cross-region replication to a second bucket for DR, and versioning with noncurrent version expiry to keep storage costs from growing unchecked.

What's Included

• Intelligent Tiering — automatically transitions objects between Frequent, Infrequent, and Archive tiers based on access patterns
• Glacier Lifecycle Rules — objects older than a configurable threshold are archived to Glacier Instant Retrieval
• Cross-Region Replication — replicates new objects to a destination bucket in a second region for disaster recovery
• Versioning + Noncurrent Expiry — versioning enabled with a rule to delete noncurrent versions after a configurable number of days
• Bucket Policy — enforces HTTPS-only access and blocks public ACLs

What You Get

• s3-bucket.yml — CloudFormation template for the primary bucket
• s3-replication-destination.yml — template for the destination replica bucket
• README.md — deploy order, parameter reference, and cost breakdown notes

Requirements

AWS CLI configured. Deploy the destination bucket template first, then the primary. IAM permissions for S3 and IAM role creation required.
