Five pre-built CloudWatch dashboards for RDS database monitoring, deployed via CloudFormation. Covers the metrics that indicate real database health — connections, latency, storage, replication, and throughput.

What Is Included

• Connections Dashboard — DatabaseConnections over time with max connections reference line
• Query Latency Dashboard — Read and write latency in milliseconds with alerting bands
• Free Storage Dashboard — FreeStorageSpace trend with low-storage warning threshold
• Replication Lag Dashboard — ReplicaLag for read replicas; flat line when healthy
• IOPS Dashboard — ReadIOPS and WriteIOPS side by side with provisioned IOPS reference line

How It Works

• Deploy the CloudFormation template and pass your DB instance identifier as a parameter
• All five dashboards appear in CloudWatch — no manual widget building
• Works for both MySQL and PostgreSQL RDS instances
• Multi-AZ and read replica metrics included where applicable

Requirements

AWS account with CloudFormation and CloudWatch access. RDS instance must be in the same region as the deployed stack. Enhanced Monitoring enables additional OS-level metrics but is not required for these dashboards.
